With over 20 years' experience in the real estate industry, Paula Wong is a dedicated and knowledgeable resource for her clientele. A former escrow officer, she transitioned into title in 1997 and has found her niche as an extended business partner for real estate professionals. After studying at California State University, Los Angeles, Paula launched her career working for a builder before being recruited into a position in escrow. "At the time there were very few individuals who could help Chinese clientele," she explains. "My ability to communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese was a definite plus." Her skills extended beyond multilingualism. Paula's ability to work effectively with a range of cultures and personality types has allowed her to successfully partner with a diverse real estate population. The focus, time after time, is simply on service.
With a strong work ethic and a knack for handling complicated transactions, Paula excelled in her role as an escrow officer. Her personality was well-suited to a behind-the-scenes presence; diligent and results-oriented, she enjoyed the opportunity to help facilitate successful closings. She also became well-versed in a range of transactions including residential refinance, equity and distressed deals as well as commercial sales. Throughout the course of her career as an escrow officer, Paula cultivated a solid network of other industry-related specialists, with whom she maintains excellent working relationships today.
Paula acknowledges that her transition into title sales wasn't without its challenges. In fact, she reveals, the opportunity to move beyond her comfort zone was one of the factors that appealed to her. With no sales experience, she, realized, her best business-building tool would be her natural skillset: her ability to connect with clients and meet their unique needs. It worked. Today, Paula's thriving clientele is a testament to her commitment to her business. Knowledgeable and personable, she works closely with each customer on their terms, acting as a well-informed resource for their title needs.
She quips that she is the 411 and 911 of title, explaining, "Whenever possible, I provide the information and answers my clients need. When I can't solve a problem immediately, or when further research is required, I have a wonderful team of professionals at Ticor Title who are available to help.
